New Moon in Gemini

New-Moon-in-Gemini
Finishing off Gemini season with a New Moon at 26° 43 squaring Neptune in Pisces provides us with an interesting energy to explore. Given Gemini is one of the most misunderstood signs of the zodiac, I thought it better to refrain from my lunar whispering and elaborate a little in conventional form. In addition, when an aspect is in late degrees of a sign, the expression is more layered, more etheric than tangible, if you will. A new moon is a seed, an intention, the beginning of a new lunation cycle that lasts six months, until the full moon in the same sign. During this half year this seed grows into its fulfillment, its pinnacle.
Gemini is often understood as talented communicator, sociable, unreliable, mentally agile, friendly, and fun. A childlike approach to interacting with the world with fluctuating curiosity and boredom, and little interest in lingering for long in any one state of being. Whilst all this does correlate with what Gemini includes, it is rather reductionist in its view. Gemini is the very first sign of reflection, after actional Aries and sensing Taurus. The first two signs are instinctual in nature, it is not until Gemini that existence begins to be observed and questioned for the purpose of comprehending. Perception is born, and the mind begins to lap up the multitude of impressions the world has to offer, and names them. This is this, that means that, therefore not this, not really that. Sense-making immediately plunges us into a reality of duality in all things and non-things, and Gemini’s fundamental point of view is nestled in the truth of there always being another point of view. Therefore, Gemini can be everything all at once, agree, disagree, remain undecided on everything, and casually move on to the next idea, concept, field of interest with the same open attitude.
Its objective is not righteousness, conviction, or determinism, but exploration of that which is for the pleasure of wonder. Whilst this may seem to be merely the simplicity of a young, tender mind, what it really represents is a first hand, high velocity connection through mind to the nature of the Universe. Everything is mind, everything is dual, therefore Gemini lies within everything. Your Gemini house(s) are where you are free to recreate yourself, by changing the narrative. When this energy is impinged upon by a collective psyche in agreement that things, people, behaviour, or circumstances must be one certain way, our natural and playful flow is disturbed, undermined, and suppressed.
Pisces also has this issue in common with Gemini, as perhaps the most unsupported and unnecessarily pained energy of the zodiac. I will describe that situation another time. Suffice to say here that a square between the mutable air and water sign is one that is a little more pliable to work with than say a fixed square. Neptune in its own sign of Pisces, wherever that is in your chart has been traveling through for many years now, since February 2012. Dissolving and disintegrating what was based on illusions and untrue ideals, cleansing and healing the aspects of life that eventually reshape themselves to becoming genuinely beautiful, inspiring, sacred, and inclusive of all. Since we are in the late degrees of Pisces, more likely than not by now we know what that higher purpose and direction is, the deeply felt experience that brought us to this point. Neptune is a transpersonal and collective planet, so anything in aspect to it serves something greater than just ourselves.
Gemini is a left-brain masculine energy, while Pisces is right brain feminine, and herein lies the challenge of cooperative creation. Gemini is easily overwhelmed by mental chatter and incessant streams of processed thought leaving no space for the power of intuitive and emotional intelligence. As Neptune is the outer, slower planet, it carries the gravitas and decree which must be carried out. This new moon is about using our mental energy for a purpose that serves the collective, being inspired by something that touches the heart and then instructs the brain, expressing ourselves in a new way that is aligned with an ideal of broader impact, and is a new chance at returning to Divine Play, or playful engagement with the Universe. This can be very healing for our exhausted minds and deeply expansive as Pisces invites Gemini into boundless experience so there’s no end to wonder and no chance of boredom!
Wherever the Sun, Moon and Neptune are in your chart today, the energies of these two houses are requiring a reboot in heart-brain coherence, the old way must be discontinued if we want to enjoy the embrace of why we are here. Where you have late degree Gemini is where you are asked now to delve deeper into your Magician, your Manifestor, through power of thought and speech, realise why your magic matters, and get that wand out. Then surrender the outcome through Piscean faith, trusting the unseen, greater forces to carry out the rest.
